Annie Creek Sno-Park
Camp Review
We found this site on freecampsites.net, where it accurately described the asphalt parking lot, as well as the dirt trail that led to the creek. We drove down the dirt trail and parked 100’ before the creek on the side of the trail.
The spot was flat, with no one around.
The noise of the highway was minimal as it is not a busy one and we were about a quarter mile away from it. Instead, we had quiet white noise from the creek.
There were two toilets at the asphalt parking lot.
The dirt road was a little bumpy, but one that looked like it’d be drivable even by passenger vehicles.
What I Learned
We slept in the camper without taking the bikes out and it wasn’t too cramped. It’s nice being with someone who doesn’t take up much space.
What Happened?
Cassie and I wanted to find a camping spot near Crater Lake and we found one at this Sno-Park that is used for camping during the summer.
We drove in when it was completely dark and circled the asphalt parking lot trying to find a spot that was at least a bit away from others for privacy and quiet. There were a few spots, but it just didn’t seem like a site I loved, so instead, we drove down the dirt road looking for something better. After a quarter mile, we found a pullout by the side of the trail that was perfect. While there wasn’t a ton of privacy, the road was so quiet that it felt nice. The site was also completely level, which was just perfect. We parked, brushed our teeth, and went to bed quickly.
The next morning, we woke up lazily and explored the trail while brushing our teeth. The creek was pretty and there weren’t many bugs!
This is a site that I hope will be returning to, as it is one of the nicest dispersed campsites I’ve been to in a while.
