Camp Curry
Camp Review:
The heated tents were really warm and clean.
Much like camping, it was a bit of a hassle to walk to the communal bathrooms.
There’s no food allowed in the tent.
The provided beds were clean and comfy.
The tent’s walls are just canvas, which meant that we could hear our neighbors very well. Fortunately, our neighbors were not too loud.
AT&T LTE is reliable and speedy; T-Mobile was neither.
What I Learned:
Some bears are active all year around!
The communal bathrooms were very clean and very warm.
The tent only has a single outlet, so it would have been nice to have a power surge protector.
What Happened?
We wanted to stay in Yosemite Valley to see snow, so we booked a reservation in Camp Curry for December. Unfortunately, due to some record breaking storms causing a power outage, our reservation was moved to February.
We found Camp Curry the be delightful. It has hundreds of tents in neat rows, and the design of the tents made me feel like I was in a Wes Anderson movie. The heater worked well, and we drifted off to sleep after brushing our teeth and putting all food and fragrances in the bear locker.
The second night was a repeat of the first, in that the tent was warm and homely. The only difference is that after dinner, we headed over to the ice rink and spent about an hour ice skating. Mia learned to balance and slowly ice skate by the end of the session without help, while Momo was speeding around while holding onto an ice trainer.
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are already planning on coming back here next year.
