Alameda Creek Trail

Trail Review:

  • The Alameda Creek Trail is a wonderful biking trail, with the north side of the trail being hard packed dirt and the south side being smoothly paved.

  • There are some trees on the trail, but not much. Sunblock is recommended.

  • The north side of the trail was pretty empty, but the south side was pretty busy with lots of walker and bikers.

  • The creek looked really clean, and we were able to make out turtles!

What Happened?

We started off at the Niles Depot, where we saw a train depart, jumped on the back of a caboose, then visited the mini train museum.

The girls and I then biked about 5 miles on the Alameda Creek Trail before they got too tired to continue. We loved the stress-free biking of the Alameda Trail and the girls were excited when I told them that there were lots of other trails like this which were car-free.

We would have gotten ice cream from across the street from the parking lot, but we were too hungry for lunch, so we headed off to find some delicious burritos instead.
