Almaden Quicksilver County Park

Hike Review

What Happened?

2.6 miles, 54 mins, 743 ft of ascent

Cassie and I were looking for a quick hike to start the day with, and we did not want to drive far for it, so Almaden Quicksilver it was!

We arrived at the Mockingbird Hill Entrance, parked, and did the shortest loop available to us, which was a 2.5-mile loop directly south-east of the parking lot.

We hiked this path in a clockwise direction (as I had already hiked this in a counterclockwise direction). I must say that the clockwise direction is the right one, as one gets all the elevation gain over with in the first 60% of the hike, and the last bits are purely downhill. I much prefer this compared to hiking uphills on the way back.

We went as fast as we could and finished in less than an hour, which is pretty good, considering that there is 700+ ft of elevation gain. We jumped back into Ramona and drove with haste to lunch!
