North Grove Trail
Hike Review
It was a little hot for a proper hike, so we decided to walk around the North Grove Trail, which is flat and easy-peasy.
The trail is a well worn double width trail with lots of boardwalks that made the walking smooth and steady.
There is a self-guide booklet that asks for a donation for $.50, and was good to have as Annabelle would read us what was so important about the various numbered points of interest.
The visitor center has AC and is a great place to meet up and chill. There is even a theater that shows information about the park, as well as a sofa section in front of a fireplace (that was not burning any wood).
Friends
Ben, Joyce, Carson, Helen, Max, and Wesley joined us for this hike while David, Kelly, and Cheng sat this one out due to various reasons. The kids did well as the older boys equipped themselves with imaginary light sabers and all the kids except for Carson ended up racing each other from one point of interest to another.
What Happened?
After lunch, we gathered at the visitor center and started hiking the North Grove Trail, before Helen and family had to leave for home. We visited the big stump, then walked around a small section of the North Grove Trail before Carson got tired from the earlier walk at Mercer Caverns and Helens family had to start driving back home.
