Rancho San Vincente

I hiked here as it is a quick hike in South San Jose that I could sneak in after work.

There were many bikers, as usual, but once I got up to where the trail splits, it wasn’t so bad. Actually after the split, I don’t think I saw more than half a dozen people, which was surprisingly empty. I hiked this trail in quick fashion, while enjoying a podcast, then went home and had dinner.

What I Learned:

  • I felt that it was almost impossible to get a beautiful wide angle shot at this park, due to how barren it is, but I was pretty happy with the lead photo of this post.

Hike Review:

  • This park is probably best for mountain bikers. For hikers, it’s just an okay park.

  • There are lots of bikers, so one needs to be alert, which isn’t very peaceful.

  • The views on the side opposite the parking lot is pretty, though very suburban.

  • There is almost no shade, so a hat is a must.
