Sculptured Beach
Hike Review
Cassie and I walked from Coast Camp to Sculptured Beach along the shoreline, then back the same way.
The walk was mostly on sand, but there were a couple of places of walking on rock. At a certain point, I wished that I had brought sandals, as stepping on pebbles over hard rock felt spicy to my feet.
The beach was empty except for a few people that we passed when we walked back. Other than that, all we saw living were birds, creatures that lived in tide pools, and plants.
What Happened?
After we had set up camp at Coast Camp, we decided to go for a short walk to Sculptured Beach. It was about a 2-mile round trip.
The walk there was fun, where we explored a half crater, jumped over a little fresh water stream, checked out tide pools, and tried to find paths that would lead to the least amount of foot pain when we walked on rocks with sharp little pebbles (it reminded me of walking on Lego pieces).
When we got to the Sculptured Beach, we explored around a little bit to make sure that the path to the Point Reyes Crater was indeed not passable (as it was nowhere near low tide). We then turned back and retraced our steps back to our campsite.
