Camp Review:
I drove to the dispersed camping spot named “Bliss” on freecampsites.net.
This campsite was just a few miles from the eastern entrance to Death Valley National Park, which was perfect for our hiking plans for the next day.
The original campsite was taken, so I ended up backing my car into a dry wash. It ended up being flat and level, which was just perfect.
Because it was a wash, we setup a table and chairs directly behind the car. This was perfect as it blocked the view from the other campsite, so it instilled a feeling of privacy.
Highway 190 was just a quarter mile away, but because of the type of asphalt used, the road noise wasn’t too bad.
There was no fire ring, but we setup a propane fire, which didn’t need one.
There was zero signal on Verizon or AT&T.
Friends
Jo accompanied me, which meant we cooked and shared dinner; as well as sharing the truck camper!
What Happened?
After hiking the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, we drove outside the eastern entrance to Death Valley National Park and setup camp at “Bliss”. We were getting hungry, so we immediately setup camp and cooked ourselves a delicious Thanksgiving dinner comprised of steak, fresh cucumbers, and mashed potatoes.
Afterwards, we sat around the fire pit and lounged around. Jo sang her guitar, wrote a little bit, and thought about random stuff. I wrote some postcards for my girls, wrote my journal entries, and processed photos.
Sleep came easily after such a busy day.
