Los Gatos Creek Trail

Trail Review

I had biked this trail before in various lengths. This time we started from the Los Gatos Creek Trail entrance at the intersection of Division St and Dell Ave—we biked all the way to Downtown Los Gatos for lunch, then biked back.

The trail conditions were about the same as the previous times.

What I Learned

I was impressed that all the girls that came rode so well. Of special note was Mona, who is the youngest of the lot and the one who probably loves cycling the most!

Friends

We invited the Saito family and they joined us for the ride. Mona loved cycling so much that we biked past our exit to Los Gatos Creek County Park on the way back so that she (and the other girls) could get a bit more riding in. It was also really nice to have lunch with them—the girls paired up (Kaylee/Mona and Annabelle/Luna) and shared dishes while the adults did the same.

What Happened?

9.5 miles, 1 hr 32 min, 315 ft of ascent

It’s always more fun riding for the girls if we have friends around, so we invited the Saito family to go cycling with us to Los Gatos for lunch. I wasn’t sure how far the girls wanted to go cycling, so I chose a shorter start than what I consider the standard route beginning at Los Gatos Creek County Park.

There was one time when Annabelle and Mona (who led the pack) strayed a bit too far into the passing lane while another cyclist was riding towards them, but I think they learned not to do that in the future. Otherwise, the cycling was fun, we all stayed together, and made it to Downtown Los Gatos without much drama.

At Downtown Los Gatos, we cycled to Thai Spice and shared a delicious meal. Afterward, we carried our leftovers to our bikes and biked to the Los Gatos Creek County Park and then back to our cars. We gave hugs to each other and made promises to do this again as we all had a lot of fun together.

Thanks to Cassie for all the pictures on this blog post!
