Mori Point

Hike Review

  • On a way back from running an errand in San Francisco, we decided to stop by Mori Point and go for a hike.

  • There was plenty of parking near the Pacifica Pier, where we started our hike up Pacifica Coastal Trail until we got to Mori Point.

  • The trail was quite popular throughout. Of course, at Mori Point itself, it was packed.

  • The trail didn’t feel clean as there was trash (especially next to the beach).

  • The ascent up to Mori Point was easy enough as the trail provided stairs.

What Happened?

2.6 miles, 1 hr 4 mins, 208 ft of ascent

I lived in Pacifica for 2.5 years and so it was a reunion of sorts. I had hiked this trail and visited Mori Point probably a dozen times in my life, this ended up being a nostalgic experience that I could share with Cassie and the girls.

In my memories, Mori Point is an isolated spot where I remember seeing lots of alcohol bottles nestled in wild flowers that populate the hillside. When I went this time, it was a spot that must have blown up with the rise of Instagram. Regardless of how many people were there, it was beautiful with flowers blooming seemingly everywhere.

We didn’t linger too long at Mori Point, as I was tired and wanted to get home before it was too late (I had stayed up until 5 AM due to work). On the way back, we stopped by Mazzetti’s Bakery for even more nostalgia.
