Sanborn County Park

I started this hike from hike-in site #33.

The trail climbed up lazily through a forest, and after a half a mile or so, I started to see glimpses of the surrounding hills. But, because of the overwhelming vegetation, there wasn’t a beautiful vista, at least where I had hiked. Maybe there is one at the top of the trail, but I never made it there as sunset came and I had to hurry back to the campsite.

The trail was clean with minimal trash around. Because it’s in a valley with lots of vegetation, there was plenty of shade. I plan on coming back to really explore this park in the future.

What I Learned:

  • Tiny streams can make a large amount of noise.

Hike Review:

  • It’s a beautiful trail with lots of shade and vegetation to keep the views interesting.

  • The trail was clean with almost no trash.
