Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve

Hike Review

  • The Boccardo Loop Trail is a double track trail shared by bikers and hikers. It is dusty with lots of cows hanging out near or on the trail.

  • The Sierra Vista Trail is a pretty single track that has breathtaking views.

  • There is no shade on the trail.

  • The parking is limited and they have rangers at the parking lot to ensure that no one parks illegally. If the parking lot is full, it might be worth it to drive around for 5 minutes and to come back, as people are constantly coming and going.

  • There is no bathroom or running water at the trailhead.

Friends

I hiked this trail with a new friend, Emily. She was a good hiker and kept a great pace.

What Happened?

4.7 miles, 1 hr 50 mins, 1085 ft of ascent

After a bakery crawl with some friends earlier in the day, it was really nice to get out and hike with a new friend. The hike was eerily similar to the one I had done two years ago, except I had a good conversation throughout it.
