Uvas Canyon County Park

Hike Review:

  • The waterfall loop trail that we walked was clean. The only trash we saw was a birthday balloon that we couldn’t reach.

  • The parking lot was surprisingly empty, probably due to the parking reservation requirement that they put in at Uvas a few years ago.

  • The trail was hard packed dirt and due to the humidity, was not too dusty.

  • There was plenty of shade, and it protected us from the light rain once that started.

What Happened?

1.7 miles, 1 hr 20 mins, 400 ft of ascent

We initially had planned to go bouldering in San Francisco, but due to the forecast of rain, we settled for a local hike instead. The girls were hesitant to go on a long hike, since we were planning on swimming later on the day, so we hiked the short waterfall loop instead of the three and a half mile loop that I usually walk at Uvas.

The hiked turned out to be just perfect for what we needed, as we observed swarms of lady bugs, a banana slug that wasn’t yellow, and a couple of waterfalls with varying amounts of water.
