Uvas Canyon County Park
Hike Review:
The waterfall loop trail that we walked was clean. The only trash we saw was a birthday balloon that we couldn’t reach.
The parking lot was surprisingly empty, probably due to the parking reservation requirement that they put in at Uvas a few years ago.
The trail was hard packed dirt and due to the humidity, was not too dusty.
There was plenty of shade, and it protected us from the light rain once that started.
What Happened?
We initially had planned to go bouldering in San Francisco, but due to the forecast of rain, we settled for a local hike instead. The girls were hesitant to go on a long hike, since we were planning on swimming later on the day, so we hiked the short waterfall loop instead of the three and a half mile loop that I usually walk at Uvas.
The hiked turned out to be just perfect for what we needed, as we observed swarms of lady bugs, a banana slug that wasn’t yellow, and a couple of waterfalls with varying amounts of water.
