Hike Review:

  • Villa Montalvo is an arts center and a county park, which centers around a mansion.

  • The grounds are impeccably clean, with a sprawling front lawn, and an enclosed garden.

  • On the trails, however, we discovered human feces and toilet paper in a grove right off the trail.

  • The trails cut through different types of forests, so it is fully shaded and hard packed.

  • We went on a Sunday morning, and found it to be not too busy.

The kids and I wanted to go for a hike in a forest that wasn’t too far away, so we strolled through Villa Montalvo. We found the place to be as immaculate as usual, and the trails were wonderful too. It was a short hike, and we had been here half a dozen times before, but we had a great time.
