Inyo Dispersed Camping
Camp Review:
I camped in a defined dispersed camping spot north of the town of Mammoth Lakes in the Inyo National Forest.
The site was made level with leveling blocks.
There were a few flies and no mosquitos.
The site had a constant whirring noise that was generated by the wind making the trees sing. It was a constant white noise, basically.
What Happened?
I wanted to find a campsite that was close to Mammoth Lakes, as I wanted to go bouldering the next day and wanted to find a spot above 7000 ft in elevation to keep up my altitude acclimatizing.
I forget how I found this spot, but it ended up being a secluded site (even though it sits in a meadow) with no one driving by in the evening or at night.
Much like the night before, I took a shower, and went to bed early after a long day of hiking.
